GOG continues to strengthen its leadership organization. The Danish top club has now introduced its new sports director. The choice has fallen on the club’s talent manager, Mikkel Voigt.
– I look forward to continuing the work of ensuring that GOG remains one of the country’s leading clubs in the future, says the 35-year-old himself.
GOG leads the Danish league and advanced to the European League playoffs without much difficulty. Now the club is strengthening its future with a new sports director – Mikkel Voigt.
– I am both proud and grateful for the opportunity to step into the role of sports director. It is a great honor to be part of creating the sporting development in a club that means so much to me, says Voigt in a press release.
The sports director joined GOG in 2021 and has since worked as the head of talent development, working both within the club and at the schools in the area. He also stepped in as the head coach of the senior team last season when Ian Marko Fog was let go.
– Mikkel has for many years demonstrated that he has the necessary knowledge, experience, and understanding of GOG’s DNA. He has already proven his worth as head of talent development, and it is a completely natural progression for him to now take on the role of sports director, says the club’s CEO, Kasper Jørgensen.
