Youth championship soon to start in Asia

A total of 13 teams eagerly await the opening games of the Asian Men’s Youth Handball Championship. The tournament in Jordan will also decide Asia’s contenders in the U19 WC next year.

With the teams divided in three groups of three and one group of four there is plenty of action on the premiere Tuesday. Defending champion Korea sets off against Iraq and the host nation while the silver team of 2022, Iran meet China who is back on track on U18 level.

The group stage brings the eight best teams to the Main Round. Being top three in the second phase secures a chance to compete for a spot in the World Championships. The semifinalists plus the winner of the 5h place match get to travel to Slovenia next summer. The event takes place until 14 September in Princess Sumaya Hall in Amman.
